White hummer pair make rare Boerne appearance

Keely Dixon, Boerne resident and UTSA biology graduate student, has found herself caught up in the lives of an unusual hummingbird pair, and, according to her mother, Kathi Dixon, “She – actually all of us – just can’t get enough.”

“My father and I first noticed the tiny ‘white’ hummingbird on one of our front bird feeders about three weeks ago,” Keely Dixon said, She added that they’re referring to the bird as “he,” although “without color we cannot determine sex.” The Dixon family never imagined that the bird would adopt their two acres of land on Boerne’s south side.
