‘Feathers in focus’ grand opening

“People enjoy birds in many ways,” said Stone. “We wanted to include people’s stories of how the Joy of Birds is felt in their lives.”

Nineteen silhouettes of the northwoods’ largest birds hang from the ceiling. A numbered guide to the silhouettes explains what each one represents, from the dinosaur archaeopteryx to eagles, hawks, falcons and owls.

Outside, bird feeders are set up and a scarecrow sits on a bench, sharing feed with the chicadees.
