Hummingbirds fascinate with beauty, power, grace

Seeing hummingbirds along the Front Range can be a bit of a challenge if you’re not paying attention.

If you go west toward the mountains, a nearby bird feeder or patch of red blooming flowers will quickly draw in the whirring sound of buzzing wings and the sight of these tiny creatures zipping around, looking for a meal.

Their little hearts beat approximately 250 times a minute when resting and 1,250 times when flying, Kenney said.
