A bird bath and/or bird house adds to the nature-friendly ambience. A pond, fountain or other water feature can appear anywhere and may have an informal, even whimsical look. Paths meander and the borders of garden beds also follow sinuous contours. Benches and other outdoor furniture can be anything from rustic twigs to Victorian wrought-iron.

    good advice..preserve the quaint look of the older homes and follow thru with the gardens..too much of our history is being lost for the sake of “modern”. Great post.
