Spring has Sprung – For Birds at Least!

After a long winter with the usual winter residents, it refreshing to birders across Labrador to see new arrivals coming to their bird feeders.

The Gray Jays have dispersed to start nesting, Pine Grosbeaks have lessened in numbers and the Boreal and Black-capped Chickadees have become scarce as well. Although the winter snow and ice is still upon us, the real first sign of spring I believe, is the return of the Snow Buntings, or as locals call them “Snowbirds”.

    Spring is exciting..we have new birds at our feeders here in Colorado..American Gold finch have arrived, along with Blue Birds and Robins…
