Vernon Refuge to host poster contest and Migratory Bird Day

Children are invited to create a poster showing one or more of the wild birds that reside in North America (at least part of the year). Posters can depict birds in flight, nesting, in its habitat, at a bird feeder or other amazing aspect of its life. Creativity can abound. The contest will have three age categories: Kindergarten to Grade 2, Grade 3 – 6 and Grade 7 to 12. Entries must be received at the refuge by May 2, 2011.
