Question: Every spring, we start getting songbirds flying against my windows. What can we do to prevent this?

Booze aside, predator birds may crash into windows as well. Sharp-shinned or Cooper’s hawks chase songbirds gathered at bird feeders. These predators or the prey may fall victim to a window.

Some people are reluctant to place silhouettes on their windows because it ruins their view outside. If that’s the case with you, there are now transparent window stickers for sale. These stickers are transparent to us but reflect ultraviolet light so birds see them. I have these at home and barely notice them. Buy them at your local bird feeding shop or garden center.
