Cold air companions still landing on Strand

Last weekend’s cold snap provided fairly steady activity at most area backyard bird feeders.

The recent spate of cold weather also appears to have brought more birds along with it. An adult male Anna’s hummingbird has been frequenting a hummer feeder in New Bern, N.C., of late for that state’s second documented record of the species, and many folks throughout the Carolinas have reported finding recently arrived orioles as well as hummingbirds at their feeders.
