The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a GIANT in the birding world. They seem to be involved in almost everything, they have multiple informative websites, and you can usually submit all of your birding questions to them. They have a series of instructional videos that they have posted on YouTube. One of these videos helps beginning birders identify local birds.
